LTC Roni Katzir currently serves in the International Law Department of the Military Advocate General’s Corps in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), as the Head of the Operational Branch.
LTC Katzir joined the Military Advocate General’s Corps in 2001. Since then, he has served in a number of positions, including as a Senior Legal Advisor in the Legislation and Legal Advice Department and as the Personal Legal Adviser to the Military Advocate General. LTC Katzir has acted as legal adviser for a number of IDF entities, including the IDF Human Resources Directorate, the IDF Spokesman’s Unit, the IDF Medical Corps, the Israel Air Force and the Israel Navy, and has served as a Legal Adviser during Operation “Pillar of Defense” in 2012 and Operation “Protective Edge” in 2014.
LTC Katzir holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honors), Bachelor of Accountancy (Honors), and a Masters of Laws from Tel Aviv University, and is currently a PhD Candidate in the Tel Aviv University Faculty of Law
